# About Carvana

**Carvana Co.** is a publicly traded online used vehicle retailer headquartered in **Tempe, Arizona**. Founded in 2012, the company pioneered an e-commerce model for buying, financing, trading, and selling used vehicles entirely online, with home delivery and its well-known multi-story "Car Vending Machines." Today, Carvana serves customers throughout the United States and has sold millions of vehicles through its online platform.

## Why Carvana Has a Page on WeDriveYouUnHappy

This page exists to document and organize publicly submitted customer experiences involving Carvana. Our goal is not to attack any company or discourage legitimate commerce. Instead, we seek to create a centralized repository where consumers, journalists, regulators, attorneys, investors, researchers, and Carvana itself can review documented experiences submitted by vehicle owners.

Every company receives customer complaints. What matters is how those complaints are handled. We believe that transparency benefits everyone by allowing patterns to be identified, encouraging accountability, and helping consumers make informed purchasing decisions.

## What You'll Find Here

This page may include:

* Customer stories
* Verified factual timelines
* Repair histories

## Our Review Process

WeDriveYouUnHappy is an information platform. We encourage submitters to provide documentation supporting their claims whenever possible, including repair invoices, inspection reports, photographs, correspondence, recordings where legally obtained, and other relevant evidence.

Content may be reviewed for compliance with our publication standards before it becomes publicly visible. Where applicable, factual claims may be linked to supporting documentation.

## Accuracy and Fairness

We strive to distinguish documented facts from personal opinions. Supporting evidence is identified whenever available, and corrections or updates may be made as new information is received.

If Carvana or any individual identified on this page believes information is inaccurate or incomplete, we welcome factual corrections and supporting documentation through our contact process.

## A Resource for Consumers

Purchasing a vehicle is one of the largest financial decisions many families make. By collecting real-world experiences from consumers, WeDriveYouUnHappy aims to provide additional information that may not otherwise be available during the shopping process.

Our mission is simple:

**Document experiences. Preserve evidence. Promote transparency. Help consumers make informed decisions.**

Carvana's official website is available at **https://www.carvana.com**, where prospective customers can learn about the company's products, services, and policies.

Carvana Stolen Car Lawsuit: Known Cases and Legal Options

Carvana has faced multiple publicly reported incidents in which customers unknowingly purchased vehicles that were later identified as stolen. According to these reports, the common thread was VIN cloning—a sophisticated fraud scheme in which thieves replace a stolen vehicle's identification numbers with those from a legally registered vehicle of the same make and model. Because the fraudulent VINs often passed title and history checks, the vehicles made it through Carvana's acquisition and inspection process before eventually being seized by law…

Connecticut reaches $1.5M settlement with Carvana over customer complaints

In January 2025, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong announced a $1.5 million settlement with Carvana following hundreds of consumer complaints received since 2019. The complaints alleged a pattern of problems, including delayed vehicle title and registration documents, delayed payments to consumers selling or trading in vehicles, inaccurate representations of vehicle condition and features, and poor customer service. Under the agreement, $1 million was allocated to a consumer restitution fund for eligible Connecticut residents who suffered financial losses related to Carvana's…

Carvana Says It Is “Looking Into It.” Its Own Records Say Otherwise.

Carvana’s public response states that it is still gathering facts and looking into this matter.

That would be encouraging—if it matched what Carvana was telling me privately.

The documented record shows that Carvana had already denied the claim repeatedly:

July 23, 2026: Carvana denied the claim twice.
July 26, 2026: Carvana denied the claim again.
July 28, 2026: Carvana denied the claim yet again.

In between those denials, Carvana publicly represented that it had communicated with me and was still investigating the facts.

Apparently, “looking into it” means repeatedly denying the claim while publicly suggesting that no decision has been made.

This is not a misunderstanding or a difference of opinion. It is a direct contradiction that can be evaluated by comparing Carvana’s public statement with its own dated communications.

We are publishing the screenshots so that readers do not have to take our word for it.

Carvana Appears Better at Protecting Its Brand Than Addressing Complaints

Carvana appears to devote considerable effort to controlling how customer complaints are presented publicly.

Customers and critics have reported being removed, blocked, or banned from online spaces where Carvana complaints are discussed, including Reddit communities such as r/carvana and r/CarvanaComplaints, as well as Carvana-related Facebook pages and groups.

To be precise, we are not claiming that Carvana directly controls every independently moderated Reddit community or Facebook group. We are alleging that criticism concerning Carvana is routinely restricted or removed across these spaces, and we will publish the screenshots and moderation notices supporting that allegation as they are documented.

That creates a troubling pattern:

Carvana privately denies claims, publicly says it is still gathering facts, and negative customer accounts have a curious habit of disappearing from the places where Carvana’s reputation is being discussed.

Perhaps Carvana is still “looking into” who keeps finding the delete and ban buttons.

Looking Into It Would Be an Improvement

To be clear, I would welcome Carvana genuinely reopening this matter and conducting a fair investigation.

“Looking into it” is better than a complete denial.

But Carvana cannot repeatedly deny the claim in private and then publicly portray itself as an organization that has not yet reached a decision.

The timestamps are clear. The denial messages are clear. The public statement does not match the documented record.

Carvana may be highly effective at protecting its brand.

The question is whether it is equally committed to protecting its customers.

I'm not certain whom runs /r/Carvana on reddit, but I suspect they might work for the big C.

I posted a comment to someone's comment about having bought a vehicle from them, saying that they should bring that vehicle to an independent mechanic to have it fully looked at, as the issues with my truck took a while to show up, and they continue to say it's not their fault.

I was almost immediately blocked from posting in that subreddit.

What's wrong with good advice?

If you listen, it's funny, at one point he tells me that he can not continue the call if I am recording the call, while acknowledging that they will continue to record the call.

Good thing we were both in Arizona, and it's a one party consent state. Also, we both concented to being recorded.

We discuss the process, the problems, the 9 calls they promised me which did not happen.

Recording and transcription on it's way.
